Modern Marsala Nursery

color-of-the-year-2015Who says Pantone’s 2015 Color of the Year, Marsala, isn’t a good fit for the nursery? This red-brown hue may seem like an unconventional choice, but that’s why we love it!

Try mixing it into a modern-and-minimal, black-and-white nursery design for a totally unique look! This color scheme can work for both a boy or a girl and provides just enough edginess while still being fun, bold and playful.

Decorating with Pantone's 2013 Color of the Year!

Pantone, LLC, a global authority on color, has officially chosen the 2013 Color of the Year! Earlier this month, they announced PANTONE® 17-5641 Emerald, a lively, radiant, lush green, as the Color of the Year for 2013! Remember last year’s Tangerine Tango? Apparently they wanted to stick with another vibrant, refreshing hue to liven things up again! We are especially excited about this choice because Rosenberry Rooms had always been a huge fan of green (i.e. our logo) and think that it can be used in so many fun and stylish ways when decorating your child’s nursery, bedroom or playroom!

We’ve selected a few of our favorite Emerald furnishings to give you some inspiration when using 2013’s Color of the Year in your own home! Don’t be afraid of this bold hue. It’s easy to incorporate into your design if you think of it as a statement piece or vibrant accent. Green is also the color most commonly associated with springtime, freshness, and hope. How perfect is this for a child’s room?

Try these electrifying emerald green lighting options.

Or go for a bold piece of furniture or rug to add a pop of color.

And if you can’t find the perfect piece of furniture or decor to meet your color of the year needs, try painting the walls with it!

Green’s complementary color is magenta which would look beautiful in a girl’s room or you can pair it with shades of navy or orange or simply a crisp white for a boy’s room. If you include any of these gorgeous emerald furnishings in your home, others are sure to be green with envy for your on-trend sense of style!

So tell us, what do you think of Pantone’s 2013 Color of the Year? How will you incorporate into your home?
