Holly Becker's Nursery Tour

When we stumbled upon Holly Becker’s nursery for her son, we just knew we had to share it! Holly is the founder and managing editor of decor8, a blog dedicated to sharing unique, inspiring and beautiful products, people and places with a heavy focus on creativity and decorating.

Holly and her husband, Thorsten, worked together to renovate this room in time before their son was born. They started with the most important piece of furniture – the crib – and decorated around it. A changing table just to the left of the crib makes diaper changes a breeze, and fun trinkets are displayed above.

after_hollybeckerThe wallpaper was the jumping-off point for this room. Applied only to a feature wall, it’s a beautiful backdrop to the room without feeling too overpowering. Its modern-yet-vintage vibe adds just the right amount of contrast to all the white furniture, oak floors and light-colored walls. Well done!babyroom16Opposite the crib is the mini library book shelf, providing the perfect place to store books, toys and trinkets. A gallery wall is prominently displayed above the book shelf, featuring vintage, indie and handmade art.  Holly used washi tape to hang some of the art for a more casual (and flexible) look. The soft flokati rug softens the entire room, and a custom glider in the corner is ready for snuggling. (Doesn’t the lightning throw pillow add a fun punch of yellow?)after3

Thank you so much to Holly and the decor8 blog for sharing this fabulous room with our fans!

Carolyne's Coral & Gold Nursery

Carolyne Nell – named after her two late great grandmothers – was born July 28, 2014. We spotted her gorgeous room on Project Nursery and just had to share it! Mom Amy gave us a little insight into her inspiration for baby Carolyne’s nursery, as well as the challenges of becoming a mom of two!

I decided to go very “girly” for her nursery and came up with the idea of doing a focal wall of glitter. I found some AMAZING wallpaper and fell in love with it, so I centered everything else around that! I loved the way the coral and aqua accents complemented the gold.

Carolyne is the baby sister to big brother Tripp (3 years old). He’s obsessed with her and loves “helping” take care of her and giving her kisses!

It’s been pretty challenging making the adjustment from one child to two – especially with stubborn big brother in the midst of potty training and tantrums! I knew it would be hard getting used to two kids, but it’s definitely proven to be quite the adjustment! Giving both of them my attention is tough, but I’ve really tried to make the effort so he doesn’t have crazy jealousy issues! We actually have a “big brother box” full of cheap toys, coloring books, etc (Target and Walmart dollar aisles are the greatest!) that he gets to choose something out of when he’s being a “big helper” and/or someone comes to meet her and brings her a gift (so he doesn’t feel left out or jealous). But, with all of that being said, nothing is more rewarding than being a parent and watching your babies grow up before your eyes! It’s truly amazing (and kinda devastating) how quickly they grow and change!

Our last installment of Project Nursery’s 2014 Nursery Design Trends brings a rustic getaway to your little one’s space! Wooden textures, traditional patterns, warm colors and a few little woodland friends all create a theme that is on the rise!

We loved mixing traditional aspects with fun modern pops! Combined, each element makes this space feel youthful and cozy at the same time!

It’s easy to start small with accessory pillows! The Watson Brown Patchwork Standard Sham and the Lake Hand Embroidered Pillow have the craftsmanship of yesterday while providing styles current with today’s trends! Both of these styles are easy to use in your nursery or home!

2014 Nursery Trends: Pops of Purple

Purple is the hottest color of the year – just ask Pantone, who picked the vibrant hue as the color of the year, or Project Nursery that listed it as a 2014 Nursery Design Trend! We love this color so much that we have TWO Pinterest boards (2014 Color of the Year: Radiant Orchid & Pretty in Purple) totally dedicated to celebrating it! Here are a few of our favorite uses of every hue from plum to lilac!

Take a walk on the wild side of purple with the Girly Purple Leopard Ruffle Crib Bedding Set from Caden Lane! The ombre effect combined with the leopard pattern makes this bedding ultra feminine and super sophisticated!

Get a little funky with unique shapes and fun pairings! The organic and playful design seen in the Paperweight Hook Rug will fill any room with visual interest! The Amethyst Jewel Table Lamp keeps the room modern while the Kites & Kittens Canvas Wall Art keeps it sweet!
Maybe a more upscale design is what you are looking for? Try using delicate shades of light purple in a teen or guest bedroom for a luxurious appeal. The Brocade Orchid Bedding has the perfect layering of stripes and damask patterns for a regal room!

We love the color combination of purple with bright orange or red! The Butterflies Kids Wall Sticker in Violet looks great displayed behind a bright accent table for an eclectic feel!

Don’t forget how much fun kids’ bathrooms can be! Wrap your little one up with a fuzzy friend like the One Eyed Monster Hooded Towel and get organized with the Owl Bath Storage Hanger! These adorable purple creatures look great alongside the Rain 8 Shower Curtain! This looks like so much fun!

2014 Nursery Trends: Chevron

Whether you love it or would rather leave it behind with last years trends, chevron is sticking around in 2014! With the “OK” from Project Nursery, we are bringing you our favorite ways to incorporate this everlasting pattern!

This soft, pink and gray girls nursery by My Baby Sam is absolutely gorgeous. Although the pattern is present all around the room, the use of these delicate colors helps to tone it down a bit! We especially love the tiny bits of owl accents, another trend that is beloved by our team!

If you have mixed feelings about chevron just use it by a different name like New Arrivals INC. does in their Zig Zag Collection! We love the fun, circus feel of this set in a little boys room! True to form, the chevron is bright and festive!

Mixing several chevrons in one room will add depth and visual interest to your nursery! We love the combination of aqua and gray tied in with an airy kite and cloud theme for a whimsical gender neutral room! Here, you can find chevron from the ceiling to the floor and everywhere in between! Go bold with a patterned rug or subtle with a little chevron in the artwork!

New Wallpaper is Here!

Wallpaper is not just a thing of the past. With trendy designs, brilliant textures and stylish colors and themes, wallpaper can easily transform any boring room into a modern day wonder!

First, you have to check out the delicate and adorable White Starry Sky Wallpaper that is great for beginners who can’t quite commit to big, bold patterns or colors just yet. We especially love this for a magical gender neutral nursery! Soft yellows and blues are the perfect way to blend a traditional pattern with modern furniture.

What makes you think of a playful little boy more than cars and trucks? The Black Construction Blue Print Wallpaper is the perfect addition to a nursery made for a rugged little guy. What this print brings is a sophisticated element, so pairing it with gray industrial products and geometric patterns will elevate the nursery to a whole new level!

Telescope Green Rug // London Convertible Crib // Dog Rattles // Steampunk Floor Lamp

Don’t forget, wallpaper is fun! It doesn’t get much more fun than the Purple Toss The Bouquet Wallpaper! It instantly reminds us of spring and looks amazing when paired with neutral tans and pops of orange! We love this look for a girls nursery, bedroom or even a feminine guest room!

2014 Nursery Trends: Navy

After viewing Project Nursery’s 2014 Nursery Trends, we decided to take on and interpret a few of our favorite trends and bring them straight to you! First up, is the color trend navy. Navy is such a classic color that easily inspires a traditional nursery, but can be used in unique ways!

PreppyNavyBoyCribBeddingThis Preppy Navy Boy Crib Bedding by Caden Lane uses Navy paired with green in an eye catching way. The green pops against the navy rug and the striped wall.
Navy Bedding SetNavy is also a favorite used in polka dot and chevron patterns! This Navy Chevron Bedding Set by New Arrivals is a fun way to use the color in a “big kid” room. Paired alongside a few blue accents, the room is instantly in style!

Remember when we mentioned using navy in unconventional ways? Here is a perfect example of that in a little girl’s nursery inspiration. It is so easy to think of the classic use of navy in a little boy’s nursery that we tend to forget that navy looks darling when paired with pink! The two colors pop when placed side by side, but not too dramatically!

Of course we had to create a navy boy’s room! Not venturing too far off the traditional route, we paired navy with another trendy color – gray – as well as warm wood tones for a solid, rooted style. The colors may be traditional, but the modern furniture by Oeuf and the chevron bedding by Caden Lane easily update this room!

Called the ‘new neutral’ by Project Nursery, navy can be paired with anything from pink, green and even metallics! Use this color on your walls, furniture and anywhere you can! It’s officially in! Find all of these goodies along with more navy decor at Rosenberry Rooms now!
