A Peek Inside Penelope’s Nursery!

Rosenberry Rooms’ very own Emily recently had her first baby – a girl named Penelope Rose! We couldn’t be happier for her and her family. IMG_4870_bwIsn’t Penelope a doll? IMG_4868_cropped_bwDuring a congratulatory visit, Emily gave us a peek inside her gorgeous nursery design. The colors and mix of patterns are incredible, and we can’t wait to share the details!

Staff Favorites!

As we are always adding new products to RosenberryRooms.com, our favorite items are ever-changing but for right now, these are at the top of our list! Check out some of our staff’s picks for June and let us know what your favorite Rosenberry Rooms product is in the comments below!

Owl Dream Ring

I love the owl dream ring because it is so unique! It’s a great alternative to a traditional mobile. The dream rings look so cute grouped together and hanging in front of a window.

Gabriella Bunk Bed

The Gabriella Bunk Bed is the prettiest girl’s bunk bed set I have ever seen! When I was little, sharing a room with my sister, this bunk bed with rosettes and beaded details would have been my dream and I especially love how it separates into twin beds.

Shaggy Raggy Rug

I love the shaggy raggy rug because it’s fun, colorful and durable and can be used in either a nursery or a child’s room. You really can’t go wrong with it!

Everyday Is A New Opportunity Vintage Framed Art Print

If I have to choose just one, then I must go for Sugarboo Designs. I am obsessed with the entire collection for its unique aesthetic and the inspirational messages the designs convey. From the first moment I saw this piece, it’s been one of my faves from Sugarboo. It would look amazing in any sophisticated, vintage nursery or kids room, but I’d love to see it hanging in my breakfast nook.

Eden Diaper Bag

I love this versatile diaper bag BabyBeau. It can also be used as a stylish handbag for when you no longer have the need for a diaper bag. The camel color of the leather is beautiful and the spacious interior makes it extremely functional.

Traffic Green Play Carpet

Now that I have my first son on the way, I’m looking forward to getting to play with him on one of these play carpets. They are educational and fun for both kids and parents.

Riley Round Mirror

A mirror is my favorite decor element to add to a room. It opens up the space, it’s functional and this gorgeous option comes in several colors to accent any room design. Oh, and what’s not to love about the ornate scroll frame?

Meadow Play Blanket

DwellStudio‘s Meadow bedding is one of my favorite products right now. I love the clean design and sophisticated color palette! It’s first on my list for my daughter’s big girl room!

Paulina Pendant

One of my favorite lines that we carry is Stray Dog Designs. I love everything they do! Their products are so unique and I love that they use quality recycled materials and bright colors to create their designs.

Chair Art

I love this picture because my favorite place to be is at the beach. I always take my beach chair and place it in the ocean like the one in the photo. It would be perfect in a serene, coastal style nursery.

Burlap Children’s Playroom Tent

Our burlap tent by Twelve Timbers is so cool! The colorful pennants add a great, personal touch.

Hooded Towel – Unicorn

I bought this for my daughter and I cannot say enough about it. Not only is it absolutely adorable, it is super thick and plush. I have had it for over a year and it has withstood many trips to the pool, to the beach, and most importantly the washing machine and dryer.

Outdoor Chaise with Umbrella

This item is perfect for a child who needs to relax after a long week. The cabana stripes give it a nautical feel just in time for summer!

Personalized Beach Towel

I love the personalized beach towels. With so many bright colors and cute designs, these super soft towels are perfect for Summer!

New York International Gift Fair Round Up!

For the earlier part of this week, some of our team attended the New York International Gift Fair (NYIGF) in hopes of discovering some fabulous new and unique finds to add to our product offering on RosenberryRooms.com! We braved the freezing rain and fast-paced streets of NY to bring our customers the best of the best! Not only did we find some amazing new products from some of our current designers but also some brand new lines we can’t wait for you to see! Some of the photos from our trip below are of products you can already find on our site and others are Spring releases we plan to have added as soon as they’re available.

Our first stop was the Sugarboo Designs booth. They have a few new additions to their line of vintage art prints as well as some whimsical pillow designs we all fell in love with!

To finish off day one, we made a trip down to DwellStudio‘s flagship store in Soho. As you might expect, the store was exquisitely modern. The front of the store spotlighted their home collection with sleek lines and gold accents. Towards the back, you’ll find their children’s collection with contemporary cribs and gliders, colorful bedding and an adorable display of toys. Thank you to the staff at Dwell for letting us pop in!

Rosenberry Rooms Store Redesign – Before & After Photos!

For those of you that missed it, a few weeks back we posted a sneak peek at some of the changes we were making to the boys’ room in our boutique in Raleigh, NC. Well, the design makeover is officially complete and we are so excited to share with you the before and after photos! The previous design included more traditional design elements and furnishings but we decided the room needed an update. With several new modern furniture companies being added to RosenberryRooms.com, we saw this as a great opportunity to utilize some of these amazing pieces! Taking inspiration from Pinterest, Project Nursery and a few tricks of our own, our in-house interior design team put together a fabulous design that we are so thrilled to share!

Here are a few of the BEFORE photos of what the room used to look like.

And here are a few AFTER photos with the new, modern design!

The bright paint colors really liven up the space and give it a fun, contemporary feel. The stripes were an excellent choice considering how high the ceilings in this room are! They add color, dimension and the perfect accent wall to set off the modern decor.

Love the stripes on the wall? Here are a few pointers if you’re looking to recreate it in your own home as well as the paint colors we used.

– Create a test board on a piece of poster board to ensure you like the way your stripe size and colors look together.
– Buy test paints at your local paint store before committing to the entire gallon can.
– Use high-quality painters tape or else the paint may bleed.
– Don’t forget to use a drop cloth to protect your floor.
– Make sure that the wall height is the same at all points on the wall. You may be surprised how different the ceiling heights can be, especially in older homes!
– Measure twice – paint once! 🙂
– Use a level to verify wall stripes are even.
– Paint the entire wall in a base coat and then paint the stripes on top of it to save time.
– Make sure each coat is completely dry before going on to the next color.

Everything you see in these photos is available on RosenberryRooms.com starting with the two amazing cribs! The Roh Crib by Spot on Square includes one acrylic side and we chose to pair it with DwellStudio‘s Owl Sky Crib Sheet. We also added two of our favorite Blabla dolls who make a few appearances throughout the rest of the room as well. The fabulous mobile includes the Scout Circle Mobile by Frazier and Wing which we paired with some coordinating pom poms and hung from a branch to give it a rustic and contemporary feel. This is one of my favorite elements in the room for sure! And how cool is that Classic Wooden Sunburst Wall Clock?

Adjacent to the Roh Crib is the stunning Empire Rocker by Nurseryworks which we chose to pair with a vibrant orange Moroccan Pouf to give it an element of surprise and a fresh feel.

Against the orange wall is the Campaign II Crib by ducduc paired with the Campaign 3-Drawer Dresser also by ducduc. We chose the Skyline Crib Bedding by DwellStudio for this crib and coordinated that theme with the paper airplanes and wall letters above it for a playful touch. On the dresser is the amazing Artichoke Lamp by Stray Dog Designs as well as the darling Euro Storage Suitcases by KidSTYLE and the super cute Lion Hat by Blabla.

If you live nearby, we’d love for you to come stop in and check out the design in person as well as the rest of our beautiful store! Leave a comment below and let us know what you think about the redesign. We’d love to hear your thoughts and what you love most!

Meet Kimberly of Rosenberry Rooms!

What is your primary role at Rosenberry Rooms?

As a Sales Representative, I get to help people purchase the items that help make a house a home.

What do you love most about working here?

Our office is a charming old house in downtown. Big windows can make all the difference in the world!

What is your decorating style?

I like things somewhat traditional, but never stuffy. Fresh flowers and cool art are key.

What are your 3 favorite Rosenberry Rooms products and why?

Draper Stripe Rug in Ink by DwellStudio – This rug is bold yet versatile. I feel it’s ageless, genderless and classic.

Classic Cape Cod Bed from Seabrook Classics – I like this color so much. I would have no problem seeing it every day.

Large Drum Pendant by Jamie Young – Lighting can really make the room and I love this pendant in cork. I think cork is the new black.

Favorite Food  – Lobster.  They are kind of scary looking, but so delicious.

Favorite Movie – Vertigo.  It takes place in San Francisco and was directed by Alfred Hitchcock.  What more could you want?

Favorite Song to jam out to – Anything Wiz Khalifa

Favorite Weekend Activity  – Taking my dog on long walks.  It’s just so relaxing!

High Point Market Round Up – Part 1!

High Point Market Week has officially ended and we are spent! Hundreds of showrooms, lots of walking, and too much free food later, we are glad to be back but excited about all the new trends and great pieces for 2012! We visited with some of our vendors like DwellStudio, Surya, Lea, Creations Baby, saw some of their amazing new pieces and recruited some exciting new lines for RosenberryRooms.com! I wanted to share with you some of our favorite new pieces, some of these are already available on the site, some we will be getting soon, and some were just too cool/strange not to share!

The Chevron trend still seems to be going strong. Which is fine by me because I love all things Chevron!

DwellStudio has some new rug designs in Chevron for Spring 2012 as well!

Also new from DwellStudio is this amazing collection of colorful and graphic pillows. Animal print, ikat and geometric prints were another popular trend. Not just on pillows but on bedding, rugs and even lighting!

Fun and funky lighting was spotted all over market. The Jonathan Adler showroom was full of white ceramic lamps in the shape of giraffes, seahorses, elephants and more! You can find most of these already available here.

These are great pieces for a modern nursery or even a stand out piece in a guest room or living room. How fun are those Dachshund bookends!?

We also saw table lamps from Ro Sham Beaux with the base made out of crayons. How cool is that for a kid’s room or playroom! We are hoping to get these added to the site soon as well.

I was thrilled to get to see lighting from Stray Dog Designs in person! We have their line available on our site but let me tell you, the pictures don’t do them justice. These lamps are so whimsical and fun and are such great accents in a child’s room or even a teen room. What’s not to love?

Ok, I guess I should get to the furniture since after all, that was the main theme of the show! I was just so impressed by all the decor! Although, we did see some really gorgeous, high quality furniture pieces that I want to share. We saw some amazing bunk beds for both boys and girls which we’ll be adding to the site soon. I love the stairs on this boy’s bunk bed, such a safe and stylish option. That cherry finish is beautiful in person!

Also from this line, is a beautiful girl’s bunk bed with a twin over full option. This line is available now on RosenberryRooms.com and we will be adding these new pieces as soon as their available. You can see the full collection here! Loving that Erika Fuschia Duvet Cover from Pine Cone Hill too!

We also visited the Creations Baby Furniture showroom and got to see one of my favorite collection in person. The Venezia Crib is quickly becoming one of our best sellers and it’s not hard to see why! Isn’t is stunning?

For those of you with a more cottage, beach style design aesthetic, our vendor Seabrook Classics was also in attendance, displaying some of their beautiful coastal furnishings.

Ok so I just have to share this new line we saw called PolART! Their furniture designs reminded me of something you’d see in Alice in Wonderland! Whimsical shapes, curvy lines, and bright, bold colors, I couldn’t pass up taking some pics!

Yes, that is a clock and those chairs are outdoor chairs! Could you find a place for those pieces in your home? What about these?…

So that’s the round up from day 1 of our trip! What do you think? Stay tuned for Part 2 of our fun (and exhausting) trip to High Point Furniture Market and be on the lookout for some of these new pieces on RosenberryRooms.com very soon!

The Home Collection by DwellStudio offers a more sophisticated look, yet remains bold and modern like the entire bedding collection from Dwell. Whether you are re-decorating your teen’s bedroom, guest room or even your master bedroom, this timeless bedding collection will fill your space with comfort and style. For 2012, Dwell has introduced some gorgeous new designs including graphic stripe duvets and animal print throw pillows in all sorts of bold colors offering a fresh approach to the modern bedroom style.

New to the line are these amazing duvet sets designed to make a bold statement while remaining clean and chic. There is the Scallop Duvet Set which looks amazing paired with a scalloped headboard and gold accents.

The Graphic Stripe set features stylish bold stripes in white and ink. I love it with a tufted headboard and intricate lighting. Another great thing about this set is that you could really pair it with any color sheet set for your own unique look.

For a more feminine look, try the Deco Floral Print complete with abstract flowers in lavender, charcoal and bronze hues. Looks amazing paired with gold accents and a plush rug.

Pair any of these stunning new sets (there are more by the way) with some of Dwell’s new throw pillows in all sorts of fun and modern prints!

Last but not least, I have to mention their new kid’s bedding set! I’ve been anxiously awaiting its arrival ever since it was debuted at the ABC Kids Expo. The new Unicorn Peony Bedding will be any little girl’s favorite with its combination of pink and purple and adorable yet chic unicorn graphics. This color scheme is so lovely too!
