Meet Holly of Paisley Petal Events!

Holly-headshotWe are so excited for you to meet the creator of Paisley Petal Events, Holly Moeller! With a passion for party and event planning, Holly started her blog to inspire others when planning their next event. She loves sharing her projects and ideas, and we’re so happy that she has shared them with us!

What inspired you to be an Event Planner?

My background is actually in Investment Banking (totally opposite of what I’m doing now!), but I discovered party blogs a few years ago and immediately fell in love with the creative things people were putting together for parties. I created a fun Valentine’s Day party for my daughter and it just took off from there – I started getting requests to do birthday parties, showers and company parties just by word of mouth.

What is your favorite part of your daily work?

When you reflect on the day, what is most rewarding? Gathering ideas and inspiration for my next party – I love looking for unique ideas and then making them my own. Hearing from clients that the party turned out amazing would definitely be the most rewarding part of my job.

Do you have any advice for other working moms?

If working from home like I do, set specific hours that you are going to work and then only work during those hours. Turn off your phone or computer after those working hours so you can really be present when you’re with your family.

What is your most memorable party you’ve planned?

My most memorable party would probably be my son’s “Surf’s Up” party I created a few years ago. My husband and I made 8-ft. tall surfboards out of plywood that I used as the backdrop for the dessert table. It’s still one of my most visited blog posts and I get requests to buy or rent the surfboards quite often!

Where is your favorite place you have travelled to?

I went on a couple of cruises in the Caribbean and just loved seeing the different islands – they were all so beautiful!

Where in the world are you dying to go next?

Italy has been at the top of my list for as long as I can remember!

What is your favorite Rosenberry Rooms product(s)?

There’s so many favorites, how can I pick just a few?! Here’s a few of my faves: Celeste Sphere Chandelier in pink, Ashley Citron Duvet Cover Set, Navajo Teal Outdoor Rug, and the Flower Pop Mirror in Green. I REALLY need some storage for my daughter’s room and I like all the storage you get with the white KidKraft Wall Storage Unit. I also love the aden + anais Liam the Brave swaddle blankets to give as baby gifts!

If you could (design a room for/photograph/interview) anyone in the world, who would it be?

I would love to plan a party with Martha Stewart. I wouldn’t want to design one FOR her – that would make me too nervous – but I would love to work with her on designing an event just to see her creative process.

What thing/place/event were you most recently inspired by?

I’m still loving neon and I also think the new geometric patterns and designs are fun. Both of those elements inspired me to create a neon/geometric back-to-school birthday party for my daughter.

Do you have any news that you would like to share, perhaps about upcoming events or projects?

I’m in the process of opening an online store where we will sell pretty party supplies along with unique gifts and stylish paper goods. I’m hoping to have it up and running before the Holiday season begins.

Now, just for fun:

Favorite Food – Anything Italian or Mexican!

Favorite TV Show – Revenge – can’t wait for the next season to start!

Favorite Movie – You’ve Got Mail

Favorite Weekend Activity – Shopping or going out to eat with my family

Favorite Band – I LOVE music. My old favorites would be U2, Howard Jones and Coldplay. For newer music, I think Katy Perry rocks and I’m loving Fun.
