Meet Michelle of I DO Invitations!

The Creative Contributors posts are always some of my favorites because we get to introduce talented and creative people in all sorts of inspiring fields. So far we’ve featured photographers, interior designers, party stylists, fashion experts and so much more! Today I’m thrilled to introduce Michelle Knox of I DO invitations by Michelle who has a true love for creating beautiful invitations for all of her customers’ most precious and celebratory events! Once she became a mom, she expanded her business to planning fabulous parties too! After all, the two go hand in hand right? So, learn more about Michelle, her company, her inspiration and her darling daughter below.

What inspired you to become a designer and party stylist and ultimately to found I DO Invitations?

My little business began in July 2008 after planning my own wedding and creating my own invitations. I started my business solely designing wedding invitations but soon after my daughter was born in 2009, I was very inspired and instantly drawn to party planning (thanks to Hostess with the Mostess) and now create invitations and printables for all occasions – birth announcements, party invites, weddings, showers and so much more!

What is your favorite part of your daily work … when you reflect on the day, what is most rewarding?

I love hearing from my customers that I helped make their child’s party or wedding so special. I owe all of my success to my wonderful clients and fans for spreading the word and being as excited about my work as I am. It’s truly rewarding and makes the long hours so worth it.

What is your most memorable design or event you’ve styled?

I think my most memorable will always be Cami’s Elmo inspired 2nd birthday – it was my first real party I fully styled/designed and it really got my name out there. It’s still my most popular party/post to date and Cami still talks about it. 🙂

If you could style a party for anyone in the world, who would it be?

Oh gosh, that’s a tough one! I love nothing more than styling parties for my own daughter. Now, I obviously wouldn’t turn down styling for a celebrity’s child, etc. but I get the most thrill from styling for my little girl. She wakes up almost every day asking “Is it my birthday party this weekend? Are my friends coming over?” It’s so darn cute.

What thing/place/event were you most recently inspired by?

I’m most inspired by Pinterest and clothing. I get much of my initial inspiration for my designs and parties by kids clothing and unique color schemes.

Where is your favorite place you have traveled to?

I loved San Diego. Beautiful city and the weather is amazing. Chicago gets pretty cold and dreary in the winter.

Where in the world are you dying to go next?

Personally, I have never been to NYC and would love to experience that someday but I’m dying to take my daughter to Disney World in the near future!

What is your favorite Rosenberry Rooms product(s)?

I adore the Caden Lane girly ikat bedding collection! So inspiring and love the colors! {This very collection inspired me when making this “Maryn” birth announcement.}

Do you have any news that you would like to share, perhaps about upcoming events or projects?

I’m styling a Halloween shoot for Baby Lifestyles online magazine and recently just styled a shoot for my new Monster Bash Party collection that is perfect for girls and boys!
