The Asger Jorn Mobile is made in cooperation with the Asger Jorn Museum in Silkeborg, Denmark. Asger Jorn (1914-1973) was one of the most significant Danish artists in the 20th century. He is renowned for his work in many artistic mediums, from pottery to painting. His style was one of both spontaneity and playfulness. The Asger Jorn Mobile shows four small creatures, which are based on Asger Jorn's original sketches and colored according to his esteemed palette. Ingeniously, the Flensted's have modified the creatures so that they graphically spell J O R N.

With the help of his wife to create his first modern mobile in 1954, Christian Flensted became known as the "Uromager", which means a "maker of things mischievous and always on the move". Today, Christian's son, Ole, and his wife continue the tradition, constantly creating new and original ideas for mobiles. Careful thought ensures that all Flensted Mobiles are designed so that the elements are in constant motion while the entire mobile maintains a harmonic balance. To achieve this, each mobile is carefully assembled and balanced by skillful hands in Denmark. The mobiles are then packed so that they are ready to hang straight from the box!
