Nancy Edwards has been painting handmade, one-of-a-kind work children's furniture for almost 30 years. Born and raised in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, Nancy is a graduate of Penn State and holds degrees in Elementary Education and Art Education. She taught in Europe in the Military Dependents School System, where she met and married her husband, a U.S. Army officer. In the late 1970s, Nancy began making her signature children's stick horses that were sold in an Officers Wives Club boutique. The work attracted the attention of local stores and soon Nancy opened a retail/studio shop, Painted Ponies. Located in New Hope, Pennsylvania, Painted Ponies sells hand-painted children's furniture, including toy chests, rocking chairs, cribs, beds, and armoires. Nancy's collections have attracted high-end buyers, including Macy's Department Store and Ralph Lauren - both of which featured her handcrafted creations in their Manhattan, New York-based flagship stores.
